Charles and Bonnie floundered around the friend zone* for several years, despite the obvious spark between them. After bonding over Aladdin songs at karaoke events, and an eventful Muse concert, Charles finally asked Bonnie if she wanted to check out the Space Shuttle at the California Science Center. Five years later, they’re each others' best friends, true loves, and partners in life. Might as well make it official!
(*Charles is currently awaiting publication of his self-help book “Breaking Through the Friend Zone.”)
Since we're basically already married, we want to have a fun, casual, and very non-traditional party with our closest friends and family. We’ll have tacos, burgers, and some hearty snacks to go with the tasty libations.

Deep Sea Tasting Room
217 Stearns Wharf, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Traffic heading up to Santa Barbara has been inconsistent this summer. Even though it's normally only a ~2 hour drive, it's taken us over 3 hours most weekends.
PLEASE allow yourself enough time to get there comfortably. The ceremony will start shortly after 5. Please be at the venue at 5PM.
You can park directly on the Stearns Wharf pier near the venue. See map below. If the lots are full, there are additional pay-lots across Cabrillo Blvd.
Leave your fancy pants and evening gowns locked away, as this affair calls for a fun and casual “summer cocktail” attire.
We love the little humans (aka children), but we’d prefer that you let loose and not have them witness their respected parents “act a fool.”
We’ve fallen in love with Santa Barbara, and we want to share the joy of exploring this beautiful town with you.
It's also Bonnie's birthday on Saturday, the day after the wedding! We plan on wine tasting and venturing through the city on Saturday to celebrate. Consider spending an extra day or two to relax and explore. Let’s make a weekend out of it!
The Funk Zone
An entire section of Santa Barbara with wineries with a non-stuffy, "Chuck and Bons" kind of vibe.
Kayak The Sea Caves
If you’re feeling adventurous, kayak through some of the largest sea caves in the world.
Rent a Bike
Bike ride along the coastline with palm tree-lined streets and a view of the Santa Ynez Mountains.
Area 5.1 Winery
A wine tasting room that's subtly themed around aliens. This is a Bonnie place.
The Good Lion
A highly rated craft cocktail bar with speakeasy vibes. Also owned by Charles' hand model!
We are staying at the La Quinta Inn on State St. on Friday night after the wedding and Saturday night. There are still a few rooms left at the hotel if you want to stay near us.
You can, of course, also arrange your own accommodations at a different area hotel or AirBnB.
It’s looking to be a busy weekend in Santa Barbara, so we suggest making arrangements as soon as possible!
We didn't want to pay for engagement photos, so here are some from our iPhones.
Please RSVP as soon as possible. :)
